Titan Group has successfully organized a Run Competition event called Titan Run at Mall Alam Sutra on 6 August 2016 with “Beat The Challenge” as the theme of this year. This run competition has been an annual company event since 2004 initially to motivate Titan’s employees adopting healthy lifestyle by exercising marathon. This year, the event was opened for public as well with three race categories; 5 km, 10 km and 17.8 km. The Race Distance 17.8 km was special category to commemorate Indonesian Independence Day; 17th of August, and track on Mall Alam Sutra area is officially chosen by Titan Group for the second time to host this special event.
There were totally 5,264 person participated in this year run competition. Hamdan Syafril Sayuti was the first runner to cross the finish line in the men’s 17.8 km category at one hour, 4 minutes and 48 seconds, while Osidah Widawati was the first runner in the female’s category at one hour, 12 minutes and 18 seconds. In 10 km category, the first runner male was Saiin Alim with chip time 38 minutes and 39 seconds, and Novita Andriyani as female first runner with 38 minutes and 41 seconds. In 5 km category, Andrizal Kurniawan was the first runner male with 17 minutes and 21 seconds, and Lailatul Asfiyah as female first runner with 20 minutes and 18 seconds.
Titan Run 2016 was supported by Mall Alam Sutra as official venue, Run Id as race management, official Jersey by Newton, Pocari Sweat as official drink race, , besides Uber (official ride-sharing application), Pic2Go (official race photo), and Kompas as media partner. This year, this run competition was sponsored by Asuransi Ramayana, Pure Storage, Fitness First, Jabra, Runner.id, Key Power Sports, AXA Mandiri, Voltaren, and many more.
What makes it differs with other run competition was that all runners would be served free various tasty foods and fruits after they finish running, and Titan chose durians (king fruits) as the specialty of the fruit among others. Besides, there would be live band performance and various door prizes for the participants.
