In order to introduce and socialize the importance of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) to Senior High School students in Lawang Kidul District. PT Bara Anugrah Sejahtera visited SMK Bukit Asam to provide knowledge about safety standards and knowledge about mining companies.
Increasing the Importance of K3 Awareness
In this activity, P.T BAS (Titan Group) visited Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim Vocational School. The Bukit Asam Vocational School welcomed the “Goes To School” work program. This activity can add insight to students about K3 that applies to mining companies.
Yudi, one of the Bukit Asam Vocational School teachers, conveyed. He welcomed the activities initiated by PT BAS to provide insight and motivation for students so that later they would be interested in students to be able to join the world of coal mining.
During the event the HSE department also introduced students to the condition of natural resources, especially coal and the vehicle units operating in the mine. Furthermore, explaining the process/flow of coal mining and mining, work safety standards in mining, as well as the hazards that exist in mining areas, all of which are explained using a monitor screen.
Furthermore, the HSE Team, through Ms. Ratih, explained the safety standards in the PT BAS mine. “Students must understand the function of HSE (Health Safety Environment) and duties in the mine. The point is that when they enter the world of work in the world of mining companies they already understand the safety standards applied by mining companies,” he explained while also explaining what what must be done and not done in the mine and the tools that are in the mine.
In addition to discussing safety and the dangers at home, it is hoped that students will be more concerned about their safety wherever they are, including in the school environment and when they return home.

Environmental Care and Understanding of CSR
After that the CDGR Team explained about P.T.’s CSR (corporate social responsibility) activities. BAS for community life and environment. Jeffry as the CDGR team explained. CSR is very important in the company in order to maintain balance and is a form of concern for the community around the mine. With the existence of CSR, it can help the economic, social, religious, health and education infrastructure of the community, which may be affected by mining activities. It creates a balance that occurs in society.
Communities can work in mining companies, the company also has a positive impact on the community. Thus there must be good synergy from all stakeholders, both the business world, government and society.
