PT Bara Anugrah Sejahtera (BAS) at Pulau Panggung Site, Tanjung Agung District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra, marked the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month with enthusiasm. On Monday (29/1/2024), the production area witnessed this commemoration through a ceremony attended by BAS management and working partners. Despite the overcast weather and drizzling rain, participants remained high-spirited to carry out this annual agenda.
Safety and Care Balloon Release
The ceremony began with the release of safety balloons by the Head of Mining Engineering (KTT) Aris Study Palimbunga, Operational Supervisor (PJO) of PT.MUM, and contractor representatives. In his address, Aris Study Palimbunga, KTT of PT. BAS, expressed gratitude to the Almighty for allowing everyone to gather for this event.
“I express my thanks to BAS employees and contractors, as well as to all parties supporting the National OHS Month event at PT Bara Anugrah Sejahtera,” he said.
National OHS Month 2024 Theme: “Promote Healthy and Safe OHS Culture in Work, Ensure Business
Sustainability” The National OHS Month commemoration in 2024 carries the significant theme, “Promote a healthy and safe OHS culture at work, ensure business sustainability.” The speech by the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, read by Arma Yoga Kurnia Putra, an employee of PT. BAS, highlights the importance of enhancing understanding and awareness of labor norms.
The Minister of Manpower also emphasizes the vital role in improving the quality of life and the human development index, supporting national development, and enhancing national competitiveness in the global era.
Various Activities during National OHS Month at PT Bara Anugrah Sejahtera
During the implementation of the National OHS Month, PT Bara Anugrah Sejahtera showcased various activities from January 12 to February 12, 2024. Some of them include:
- Opening Ceremony of National OHS Month: Centered at the PT.BAS Pulau Panggung mining area.
- Blood Donation: Collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross in Muara Enim Regency.
- Table Tennis Competition: Employee competition to enhance camaraderie.
- Quiz Competition: Knowledge competition among employees to stimulate learning enthusiasm.
- HSE Goes To School: Visit to Muara Enim Superior High School to raise awareness of OHS.
- Health Check in 3 Ring 1 Villages: Involving Pulau Panggung Village, Darmo Village, and Keban Agung Village.
- OHS Ambassador Assessment: To showcase safety role models in the workplace.
- Closing of National OHS Month: Event marking the completion of activities on February 12, 2024.
“All these activities aim to raise awareness of the importance of building an OHS culture in the workplace and the community,” added Yoga.
Hope for the Future: Achieving Accident-Free Working Hours With this National OHS Month commemoration, PT Bara Anugrah Sejahtera hopes that efforts to improve the OHS culture can be more effective in preventing accidents. Yoga expressed his hope, “May PT Bara Anugrah Sejahtera (Titan Group) continue the achievement of accident-free working hours (ManHours Non LTI), which has reached 9,231,560 working hours since the beginning of the project in 2015.”
